There are endless risks for individuals and families who rely on their devices and applications. No one is safe without adequate protection! At the very least, consider safeguarding:
Consider your log-ins and passwords for banking, online shopping, email, social media…the list goes on and on. The amount of confidential information we store or access electronically is substantial. Without adequate protection, it is ALL exposed to the cyber-criminal community.
IT’S IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER…
Malicious Action is Not Always Immediate
The malware can simply sit on the device, gathering personal information to fuel the malicious actions against you and your family.
Cyber Criminals Can Hold Your Information for Ransom
Using Ransomware criminals can hold your content for ransom. You will be denied access to your personal photos or documents, and, unless you pay a ransom the files will be deleted. Of course, you can back-up content before the threat but most fail to do so regularly. If you rely on the cloud, remember that it is accessed through the compromised device and potentially exposed as well.
Logging in to devices to access entry or security devices in our homes or vehicles is becoming more frequent. Sadly, the cyber-criminal world is fast realizing this potential liability and acting on it.
In addition to your personal devices, those you use at work can also be a liability. Any personal information stored or used on these devices is vulnerable as well.
